NATIONAL SERVICEMEN’S HANDOVER
It was a sad day for Port Macquarie’s National Servicemen (NASHO’S) recently. Due to dwindling numbers, the NASHO’S have called it a day and disbanded the tightknit group.
To mark the occasion, a service was held on Tuesday 6th August 2024. President Tony Newell addressed the group, and a presentation was given by Founding Life Member Carmel Dick. There was also a photographic history of the Association on display prepared by Life Member Ray Chesher.
The NASHOS flag was lowered one final time, and custodianship of the National Service Memorial at McInherney Park was handed over to Port Macquarie RSL Sub-Branch. The Service was followed by a lovely lunch prepared by the ladies. The President and Committee would like to thank the members of the National Servicemens’ Association for their past service and for their dedication to the Association.
