Port Macquarie RSL sub-Branch received its Charter in May 1923, and we celebrated our 100th Anniversary in fitting style with a Dinner Dance. The night was formal, with guests including RSL State President Ray James and his wife State Coordinator RSL Auxiliaries Pauline James, Pat Conaghan MP, Leslie Williams MP and Mayor Peta Pinson and husband Craig.
The Dinner was held at Port Panthers on 16th September and was in line with the kind of formal dinner many members of the sub-Branch experienced during their service. Those who were new to the experience were impressed by the formalities and traditions. We were entertained by our very own Port Macquarie & Wauchope Pipes and Drums and later enjoyed Farrawells Drop Band – a group of local doctors and nurses who wowed us with their show.
An excellent night for Members and their guests – with thanks to:
- The Committee Members who offered their time and energy to put this evening together
- Port Panthers for their excellent service and first class meal that was served
- Port Macquarie & Wauchope Pipes and Drums
- Farrawells Drop Band – we highly recommend them for a great night’s entertainment
